“Just being back in a small town,” says Paterson, when asked what has been the highlight of the couple’s career move so far. “We were tired of the heavy traffic, and in the city we were both working shift work. Here, everyone is so polite and friendly - they say hello to you on the street.” It has been a busy few months for the couple. Rosadiuk graduated from the pharmacy program at the University of Alberta in 2007, and following their purchase of the Oyen store they immediately started extensive renovations to the building. Throughout the fall, the store received a complete redesign and a new customer service counter, as well as new flooring and paint. Rosadiuk and Paterson spent the months following Christmas preparing for the grand opening. “Everything’s moved so quickly,” Paterson says. While things have been hectic, starting a new business and getting to know a new community has also been rewarding. The couple is looking forward to the future. “Things have been going well so far,” Paterson says. |
