BY-LAW NO. 789-08 TOWN OF OYEN PROVINCE OF ALBERTA A By-Law of the Town of Oyen to amend By-Law No. 620 being the system for collection and removal of Solid Waste and Refuse material in the Town of Oyen and levying a fee for same. WHEREAS, under the provision of Section 191 (1) of the Municipal Government Act, and amendment thereto, the Council of the Town of Oyen is authorized to amend By-Law No. 620. THEREFORE be it resolved that Sections Eight (8) and Nine (9) of By-Law No. 620 of the Town of Oyen shall be amended to read as follows: Section No.8 - Solid Waste and Refuse material from all dwellings will be removed by the Town of Oyen at least once a week and the Town of Oyen will levy a fee of $17.50 per month to be paid by the owner or tenant. Section No.9 - Solid Waste and Refuse material from stores, restaurants, hotels, service stations, garages, or such other places of businesses as the Council may designate, will be removed by the Town of Oyen more frequently than once a week upon the making of a contract for such services, in such form as the Council may require, and upon payment by the owner and/or operator of any such contracting business place of a fee per month of: $35.00 where services is requested 3 days per week (except Sundays and Statutory Holidays) The Contractee shall be required to make such payments within thirty (30) days of date of billing and failure to make payment within such time may nullify such contract and shall constitute an offense under the By-Law. Provided that the Contractee shall request such daily service, or otherwise as the case may be, to adequately, in the opinion of the Councilor the Medical Officer of Health, keep the premises in question free from excessive Solid Waste and Refuse. This By-Law to become effective July 1, 2009. By-Law No. 788-08 is hereby repealed. READ A FIRST TIME this 2nd day of September, 2008.
